Mr. Morell is the founding member of Morell Law Offices, PLLC.  He counsels employers on a wide range of employment issues, including employee handbooks and policies, hiring and terminating employees, responding to complaints of discrimination and harassment, independent contractor issues, and structuring mass layoffs to comply with applicable laws.  

Mr. Morell is experienced in all aspects of litigation, from discovery through trial and appeal.  He has defended employers in a wide range of employment litigation, including actions arising under Title VII, ADA, FMLA, ADEA, Section 1981, GINA, and the FLSA.  Mr. Morell has also represented employers in breach of employment contract litigation, restrictive covenant litigation, defamation litigation, and trade secret litigation.  

Mr. Morell has experience representing employers in labor litigation, including matters before the National Labor Relations Board, labor arbitrations, and challenges to arbitration decisions.

He has represented a wide range of employers that vary in size, from small technology companies to Fortune 50 corporations.  Over his career, Mr. Morell has represented employers in many industries, including:  health care, technology, education, energy, retail, finance, security, transportation, food services, and construction.

Publications

Mr. Morell authors the Mid-Atlantic Employment Law Update, a newsletter that focuses on national and regional developments in labor and employment law affecting employers in Maryland, Virginia, and the District of Columbia.  Mr. Morell was a Contributing Editor of The Developing Labor Law (2006, 2007, 2008) and co-authored The Military Leave Compliance Kit.
